NEED A CAT PLEASE HELP?

I really want a cat and I was wondering what kind i should get. I am willing to do lots of research if necessary. So i want a really playful cat that wont be boring and lazy and just sit around. I want it to be really affectionate and kiss me and purr a lot ya know? I would also like it if it was good with being picked up and handled because i have little brothers and sisters that will probably be doing that. I also have some allergies but its not that big of a deal. I did some research and i have absolutely fallen in love with the maine coon, but they seem pretty expensive and hard to find. I have also been looking into persian cats. Well i know its asking a lot but if you are a cat person and you know what kind of kitten would be great for me please answer!! thanks a lot!:))
