Never start anything in life that you can't walk away from?

Such as jobs, relationships, possessions, property, etc. Not really advocating quitting but I see so many people trapped in jobs they hate to pay for things they don't really need. Stuck in loveless relationships because they can't just walk away. If people were less committed would they find more freedom and happiness?
